The collection seems to include many mysterious creatures of legend, placed in chests and sealed jars in scary positions, according to Mirror . The fairy-like corpses, whose wings were pinned to display boards, were located in the basement along with distorted alien-like skeletons and hairy humanoid corpses. In addition, the collection also includes hearts and other internal organs stored in sealed jars.

According to Alex CF, who shared about the discovery, the collection belonged to Thomas Theodore Merrylin, a biologist and wealthy aristocrat in the 1800s. In 1960, London planned to build a new residential area and house. Merrylin’s old villa after many years of abandonment is on the verge of demolition.

In the basement of the house, construction workers found about 5,000 small sealed wooden boxes. They were very surprised to find the bodies of strange creatures inside, Alex CF said.

However, many argue that the collection is a work of imitation and that a person with a passion for magical creatures created them in the late 19th century.
